A VIPP/VIPP-SD Training Course has the following components:

Basic training

The goal of the basic training is to introduce the participants to the elements of the VIPP/VIPP-SD Method, thereby increasing their knowledge and understanding of its practical use and its effectiveness. Participants will be taught how to apply the VIPP/VIPP-SD through guided practice by means of illustrations and exercises. Comprehensive feedback will follow each exercise, led by a certified VIPP-SD Trainer.

(Although having completed a basic training does not qualify for applying VIPP/VIPP-SD, some trainers / training organisations will provide a certificate of attendance if requested. Such certificate is only relevant to participants who do not wish to proceed with the practice training or to participants requiring proof of their attendance. As a service to the trainers / training organisations, VIPP-SD International produces a basic training attendance certificate on request, but only for true VIPP-SD training, not for derived methods or methods under research.)

 

Practice training

Following the basic training, the participants will start their VIPP/VIPP-SD Practice Training under supervision. They will have to identify their own practice case with whom they will practice delivering the intervention. Before every home visit (HV) the participants will receive individual supervision with a certified VIPP-SD Supervisor.

 

Assessment

The VIPP/VIPP-SD Training Course will be completed with an assessment meeting, discussing the participants competencies, including a self-reflective report and video-feedback on the participant in action.

 

Certification

After the assessment, if the VIPP-SD Supervisor is confident about the competences of the participant, a certificate is provided.

- If the training course was for true VIPP-SD, this will be a VIPP-SD Intervener certificate, issued by VIPP-SD International.

- If the training course was for a derived VIPP method very close to VIPP-SD, using the VIPP-SD manual, this will be a VIPP-SD Intervener certificate, issued by VIPP-SD International.

- If the training course was for VIPP-SD plus for a derived VIPP method, recognised as an add-on, this will be a VIPP-SD Intervener certificate, issued by VIPP-SD International, with a separate statement of the VIPP add-on qualification.

- If the training course was for a derived VIPP method to be researched, this will be a VIPP Research Intervener certificate, issued by VIPP-SD International.

- If the training course was for a derived VIPP method, deviating from VIPP-SD (a spin-off), responsibility for certification with a qualification to apply the VIPP method lies with the organisation that developed and/or distributes this method.

 

Registration

Only receivers of a VIPP-SD Intervener certificate will be registered by VIPP-SD International as VIPP-SD professionals allowed to apply VIPP-SD in practice. The registration is for two years.

Receivers of a VIPP Research Intervener certificate will be registered by VIPP-SD International as VIPP professionals, allowed to apply the specific VIPP method in practice for research purposes only. The registration ends when the research ends.
